Bachelor of Social Sciences/ Bachelor of Environmental Studies

Level One

  • 3 x Social Sciences courses (3 units each)
  • Social Sciences in Australia (3 units)
  • Globalisation, Justice and a Crowded Planet (3 units)
  • Sustaining a Fragile Planet (3 units)
  • 2 x Geographical and Environmental Studies courses (3 units each)

Level Two

  • 2 x Major courses in one Social Science discipline (4 units each)
  • Social Science Techniques (4 units)
  • 2 x Geographical and Environmental Studies Electives (4 units each)
  • Environmental Management (4 units)

From 2008 Environmental Management can be replaced with one of the following:

  • GEST 2020 Urban Futures: Environmental and Social Issues (sem 1)
  • GEST 2011 Biogeography and Diversity Conservation (sem 2)

Level Three

  • 2 x Major courses in one Social Science discipline (6 units each)
  • 2 x Geographical and Environmental Studies electives (6 units each)

Level Four

  • 1 x Applied Social Science Elective (6 units)
  • Social Research
  • 2 x Geographical and Environmental Studies electives (6 units each)
