Bachelor of Arts pre 2008 Study Plan

Level I (24 units)
  • 4 x Humanities and Social Sciences Courses (3 units each)
  • 4 x Humanities and Social Sciences or other Faculty courses (3 units each)
 Level II (24 units)
  • 2 x Major courses in Humanities and Social Sciences (4 units each)
  • 1 x Humanities and Social Science course (4 units)
  • 3 x Humanities and Social Sciences or other Faculty course (4 units each)
Level III (24 units)
  • 2 x Major courses in Humanities and Social Sciences (6 units each)
  • 2 x Humanities and Social Sciences courses (6 units each)

To create a second major in the Bachelor of Arts (pre 2008), you must study an additional two courses in both Level Two and Level Three from the same discipline area.

Courses

All the courses taken in the Bachelor of Arts are free choice. There are no compulsory courses. Courses can be chosen from a wide range of academic disciplines from within Humanities and Social Sciences.

Majors and Approved Electives

The Bachelor of Arts requires you to have at least one major sequence. This is made up of the following courses, all taken from the same discipline:

  • 2 x  Level Two courses (4 units each)
  • 2 x  Level Three courses (6 units each)  

It is important to choose the correct courses in order to fulfill the requirements of a major sequence. The list of Majors and Approved electives can be found under Courses on the Faculty website.
