Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Humanities and Social Sciences Programs

Australian students

You can apply to compete for a place in a variety of undergraduate degrees in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on the basis of your:

  • Year 12 results 
  • International Baccalaureate results or interstate/overseas equivalent
  • Previous higher education studies
  • Completed Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification
  • Through one of the University’s Special Access schemes.

Applications for entry into all undergraduate programs are made through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC). Applications can be made from early August. Year 12 South Australian students need to have qualified for the SACE and have successfully completed five Stage 2 units, four of which must be HESS general subjects. There are no prerequisites required. For more information please visit  University Admissions, and the SATAC website.

Applications for postgraduate coursework are also handled through the SATAC website, with the exception of the Gastronomy programs  - further information is available on the Gastronomy website.

Applications for postgraduate research are handled by the Adelaide Graduate Centre.
